Every believer has a place to serve. Service is not about recognition; it is about loving Christ, strengthening the church, and helping others.
WHY SERVE?
Saved People Should Become Serving People
God did not save us merely to sit, watch, and receive. He saves us to follow Christ and invest our lives in others.
Service may be visible or behind the scenes. It may involve teaching, hospitality, music, children, maintenance, prayer, outreach, administration, or simply helping where needed.
What matters most is a willing heart that wants to honor the Lord and strengthen the local church body.

Serve for the Right Reasons
Biblical service begins with the heart before it ever reaches a ministry position.
Love Christ
Serve because you love the Lord and want your life to honor Him.
Love People
Service is about helping, encouraging, teaching, and strengthening others.
Be Faithful
Reliability matters. Small acts done faithfully are valuable to the church.
Stay Humble
Serve without seeking attention, position, or recognition.
WHERE CAN I SERVE?
There Is a Place for You to Help
Not every ministry needs the same gifts, and not every believer serves in the same way.
Children & Youth
Help teach, assist, encourage, supervise, and invest in the next generation.
Music & Worship
Use musical ability to support congregational worship in a Christ-honoring way.
Hospitality
Welcome guests, help with meals, fellowship activities, and practical care.
Outreach & Missions
Help share the Gospel locally and support mission work beyond Rockwall.
Facilities & Practical Help
Help with setup, maintenance, cleaning, projects, and practical needs around the property.
Prayer & Encouragement
Pray faithfully, visit, encourage, and help bear the burdens of others.

FIND YOUR PLACE
Start with What You Can Do
You do not need to know your perfect ministry role before you begin.
Start by being available. Notice needs. Ask where help is needed. Be willing to learn, and let faithfulness open the door to greater responsibility over time.
Sometimes your place of service will match an obvious skill. Other times God may use you in ways you did not expect.
BEFORE YOU SERVE
Character Comes Before Position
Ministry should flow from a growing walk with Christ, not replace it.
Be Faithful
Regularly assemble and become part of the life of the church.
Be Teachable
Be willing to learn, receive correction, and work with others.
Be Dependable
Follow through on commitments and communicate clearly.
Be Growing
Continue in the Word, prayer, discipleship, and obedience.
SERVING IN THE LOCAL BODY
Membership and Service Belong Together
Members are not merely names on a church roll. They are part of the local body and share responsibility for its ministry and mission.
As you become established at Rockwall Baptist Church, membership provides the natural context for ongoing service, accountability, and participation in the work of the church.
Some areas of service may require membership, additional training, or pastoral approval depending on the nature of the ministry.
