Many people call it Easter. We celebrate it as Resurrection Sunday — a day to remember and proclaim that Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave and is alive forevermore.

The Empty Tomb Changes Everything
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not a seasonal tradition. It is central to the Gospel.
Jesus Christ truly died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. Because He lives, the Gospel is true, death has been defeated, and believers have a living hope.
Resurrection Sunday gives the church a special opportunity to gather, worship, preach Christ, and invite others to hear the good news.

SUNRISE SERVICE
Gather Early to Remember the Empty Tomb
Many churches observe Resurrection Sunday with an early Sunrise Service.
The tradition reflects the Gospel accounts of those who came to the tomb early in the morning and discovered that Jesus Christ had risen.
A Sunrise Service can include Scripture, prayer, hymns, and a brief resurrection message before the regular Sunday services begin.

We prefer the name Resurrection Sunday because it states plainly what we are celebrating: the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Whatever term a visitor may use, our desire is to keep the focus where Scripture places it — on the crucified, buried, and risen Saviour.
